The service
GoalSchema provides read-only HTTP access to an archive of football results — fixtures, scores, competitions and teams — compiled from third-party sources and normalised into one schema. It is run on a best-effort basis.
Keys and accounts
Every request except the API's index needs an API key, and a key needs an account. Keep your keys secret: you are responsible for requests made with them. Limits count per account, so do not open further accounts, share keys or rotate addresses to get around them.
Plans
The free plan allows 1,000 requests a day and 60 a minute. The Developer plan costs $29 a month and allows 25,000 requests a day and 300 a minute. Business limits and support are agreed by email. Daily quotas reset at 00:00 UTC. Every plan reaches the whole archive; plans differ in volume and support.
Paid plans
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and renew until cancelled. Payments are processed by Polar, which acts as merchant of record: Polar is the seller of the purchase, collects any sales tax or VAT due, issues the receipt and invoice, and its own buyer terms apply to the payment itself. We never see or store card details.
You can cancel at any time from the console (Billing → Manage subscription). Cancelling stops the next renewal; the plan stays active until the end of the period already paid for. If a renewal payment fails, the plan keeps its limits for seven days while the payment is retried, then falls back to free limits until it succeeds. API keys are never deleted over billing: a lapsed plan's keys keep working at free limits. For a refund request, email us; refunds are issued through Polar.
What you may do with the data
You may use the data in your own apps, sites and products, commercial ones included, and display it to your users.
You may not redistribute it as data. That means no reselling or sublicensing it, no mirroring it, and no offering it — in whole or in any substantial part — as a dataset, a feed, a download or an API, whether for free or for payment. These terms grant no licence to do so, on any plan.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to circumvent the limits of your plan. Do not use the service to build anything that is illegal in your jurisdiction or ours. We may suspend a key or an account that does either.
Availability and accuracy
The service is provided as is and as available. There is no service-level agreement on any plan, and no warranty of any kind: we do not warrant that the service will be available, or that the data is complete, current or free of error. The archive is updated several times a day, not in real time. Coverage is uneven — see Coverage. We may change or retire endpoints; where a change would break an integration, we will give notice where we reasonably can.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, GoalSchema is not liable for loss arising from use of the service or reliance on the data, including lost profit, lost data or business interruption.
Changes
We may change these terms. Material changes to paid plans will be communicated to the billing address on file before they take effect.
